About Brian Dickson

I’m Brian Dickson, founder of Bus Business Consultants and a former ground transportation executive who spent nearly 20 years on the operator side of the industry, carrying the same responsibilities and pressures owners and senior leaders face every day.

I began as Vice President and General Manager of Coach America’s Orlando operation, supporting high-visibility clients such as Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, the University of Central Florida, major cruise lines, international tour operators, and a wide range of charter customers. At our peak, we operated close to 200 vehicles across multiple service types with a team of more than 300 employees.

The work went far beyond running daily service. Across the leadership roles I held—including General Manager, Regional Vice President, and other senior operating positions with Coach America, Arena Americas, Alliance Bus Group, Walt Disney World, and All Aboard America—I was responsible for the decisions that shape an operator’s reality: pricing and contract strategy, reorganizations and restructurings, labor and union dynamics, fleet and capital investment, service recovery, and making difficult decisions when performance, safety, or culture fell short.

These weren’t theoretical discussions. They were real-time decisions made with customers waiting, employees watching, and financial outcomes on the line.

Those experiences reinforced an important truth: strong results rarely come from isolated fixes. They come from clarity, discipline, aligned leadership, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure—consistently.

In 2024, after leading the turnaround of a startup operation in Austin, Texas, I founded Bus Business Consultants. I did so to help owners and executive teams work through the same kinds of challenges and consequential decisions I faced throughout my career—without having to learn every lesson the hard way.

Today, I work directly with owners and leadership teams in the motorcoach, bus, shuttle, and broader ground transportation industry. I serve as an experienced, practical sounding board for leaders who want greater clarity, stronger alignment, and disciplined execution—without having to navigate every difficult decision alone.
